Diving Conditions

Diving takes place initially in the diving tank to ensure students are comfortable with the equipment. Progress is then normally made to diving beneath the pier in the sheltered waters of the Holy Loch, from inflatable boats, from our inshore hard boat or from the mv. Sleat - our superb, customised 38m long diving vessel.

Depth, Visibility and Temperature

Water depths are varied depending upon the course and equipment being used, but will take you up to 50m/165ft during the deep diving phase. Visibility can be mixed which is good for experience, as learning in clear blue water is unlikely to prepare you for typical dive worksite conditions similarly water temperatures are between 4 and 12 degrees Centigrade, making the use of drysuits and hotwater suits a must.
